About The Right Choice Catering & Gifts

The Right Choice Catering & Gifts is not your normal catering company. We don’t provide “cafeteria-style food.” Our goal is to provide you with food that reminds you of what Grandma used to make. We cook Southern-style, home-cooked food that is full-flavored and always freshly made. We make the things that remind you of your childhood...whether we are making buttery creamed potatoes or a delicious coconut cream cake, we hope that you are transported to your childhood with each bite. Chef Melissa is careful to taste each dish before it leaves the kitchen and guarantees that each dish will taste the same each time you order it. Give us a call and try your favorite!

Melissa Robbins - Executive Chef/Owner

I've been cooking for over forty years. I come from a long line of men and women who love to cook, and I married into a family of superb cooks. For the entirety of my thirty-seven years of marriage, I've cooked dinner almost every night, and I've loved it. I baked for my neighbors, for my husband's co-workers, and anyone else that I could send food to. It was the third great love of my life right after my husband and my two daughters. I entered the Putnam County fair year after year with exhibits from chocolate chip cookies to divinity, and I was thrilled to win ribbon after ribbon. Once my children left home for college, I decided that it was time for me to do something for myself. I entered the Art Institute of Tennessee – Nashville in their Culinary Art's school and earned my degree. At the time, I did it for me. I never planned to ever sell my food. I enjoyed making it for others so much that it really never occurred to me to charge for it. Since graduating, I've catered events for family and friends, from baby showers to wedding receptions and gender reveal parties. My family has convinced me that "if you find something that you love to do, you'll never work a day in your life," and my love is cooking so "The Right Choice" for me was to open a catering company. The Right Choice Catering & Gifts is my new passion. I love making food...and I pray that others continue to love to eat it. I love to say...."I'm your cook...not your doctor!"
